Ahaha I uploaded a version of Viva La Vida on my Youtube the day! This was a really great idea and it flowed surprisingly well!

My only criticism is to really pay attention to detail. A capella recordings like this require so many different layers of vocals. If on each layer you have a part where you're off-beat or out of pitch the tiniest bit, individually it's no big deal. Of course, if each part has these flaws, they all build up and it can sound a little messy ^0^ really practice on perfecting each and every part so that you can really reach maximum potential.

I really enjoyed this~!

Ugh, this makes me crave EastWest so badly now... this is SO so amazing. I'll get the only criticism I have out of the way first which was the volume peaking at 2:43.

Saying that, the volume peak is in my opinion the one necessary imperfection laid in a bed of perfection. I fell in love with this nearly immediately. I've not heard your contender's entry, but man I really really do not envy them. Absolutely fantastic.

For somebody that wasn't entirely sure about Salsa before this, it's totally understandable that it wouldn't be totally authentic in technicality. As a music piece on it's own without piling it into a box and sticking a label over the top, I think you did a really good job.

I don't tend to listen to Latin styled music much, which is sad on my part, but I really genuinely enjoyed this. The one word that springs to mind? Sassy.

I loved the way you ended this too, I'd have personally held the ending on a few seconds longer! Good job.

SoundChris responds:

Thank you eternalwinds - glad you liked the piece! I wish you good luck for the contest!

You're the first classical pianist I've heard on Newgrounds, not that I've been on here for that long. I must say, I really love this!!

I think you have a true talent for composition, a cut above most composers that I know. Really, seriously wonderful. Newgrounds is an extremely critical place, eh? I couldn't not 5-star this.

headphoamz responds:

Thank you so much! And you have a lovely voice btw! ^_^

This is a really gorgeous cover and a favourite song of mine! I somehow have two covers of this on Youtube... no idea how that happened. Your voice sometimes sounds a little crackly, but with such low notes, sometimes that's inavoidable. Keep up the good work, you've earned yourself a new follower!

raggd46 responds:

Thank you so much!

I'm in love with this. Really creative and captivating. You really are very talented! Perhaps you'd be interested in collaborating sometime? Really great!

ZipZipper responds:

Yes let's corraborate

I couldn't bring myself to finish listening to it simply because it's so good. A completely different contrast to my entry so Round 1 should be interesting indeed. Losing to a submission like this however, I wouldn't at all be surprised. Really good job and good luck! :-)

You know just how much I adore your work. Definitely one of my favourites of your originals, if not my favourite!! Really amazing work. *___*

Regrettably I've only heard your 'Sadness and Sorrow'. This is absolutely fantastic Trevor! :-)

BlazingDragon responds:

Thank you so much! I have a number of mellow songs like 'Sadness and Sorrow'. While not as melodic, I think you might also like 'Sanctuary'. Check it out and read the description if you have the time. :)

I really enjoyed this! The scale almost sounds Celtic with the shift to major rather than minor. You're really talented.

Hey, I'm Jordi aka etherealwinds. I'm a vocalist, composer and Celtic harpist. One half of Forest Elves, one half of Phoenix Up.
