Wow, the atmosphere you've built up is quite haunting and beautiful. The activity of the nature in a way makes the calm atmosphere of the music seem somewhat eerier than without the nature sounds. I find that really interesting actually! The art that inspired you is beautiful and definitely matches the ambiguous nature of your composition. It looks to be in that sort of 'dusk' time, and it could be interpreted as anywhere from calm and serene to eerie and dark. An interesting place to be. Thank you for making this and sharing it! I love this so much. Those mallets are absolutely magical! It's so refreshing to hear new music from you, always - one of the first musicians I came across on this site that just inspired me so much. You have such a respect for masterful sound design, small details, and incredible ambience. The melody at 2:08 played by (is it an oboe, bassoon?) reminds me so much of one of my favourite folk melodies, the melody of a folk song called Gröne Lunden. This entire thing is magical. Thank you for sharing!!

Gröne Lunden's melody sounds so similar to the one at 2:08 (which is a bassoon by the way), you're absolutely right. Almost sounds like plagiarism haha.

This has to be one of my favourite submissions to the NGADM of all time, even if you're a fill-in. I really love this, and now that winter is in full-flow and the streets outside are completely coated with snow here in Finland, this song serves to remind me of how warm it feels to be inside, and how beautiful it is outside. Thank you for this!

oddly enough it's also started snowing here in the northern U.S., which is what inspired me to write this. i'm glad i was able to convey that feeling through this song :-)
