I saw "Town" in the title and jumped to the left clicker on the mouse immediately. This is such a unique take on a coastal town theme but it works perfectly. I'm from a coastal town myself, and can definitely picture this song playing as I'm walking along the seafront, with the harbour nearby and the park on the other side of the road. So lovely :)

I'm no Nobuo by any means, but I definitely had Costa Del Sol in mind while writing this. I wish I could just project sounds straight from my head into FL studio before all my ideas disappear as I'm writing them. ADHD is tough sometimes :P

All of your music just oozes with nostalgia and soul. I'm having more fun than I've had in a long time just listening to your beautiful songs, one after another. Another very amazing track, which is no surprise!

Interloping responds:

I actually had to write this track because Nintendo has been slapping people with their foreskin lately for using any of their music in YouTube uploads.

I'm part of an amazing team on PokeMMO, and we recently have been hosting PvP tournaments and uploading the replays, and I was tasked with writing a few tracks to paste onto the uploads.

This was my first piece to use the Pokemon Emerald soundfont, which I have grown very fond of and am still using to this very day!

You're quickly becoming one of my favourite artists on Newgrounds to listen to. Again, you really have that early Final Fantasy feel which, if it were a genre, would probably be my favourite. Throw some early Pokemon in there too! It's sooo good. Your music has so much heart! Also, I forgot I left loop on and it just looped seamlessly. I nearly missed it. Huge kudos for that :D

Interloping responds:

This track is actually one of my favorites, I had written it on nothing but adrenaline and excitement at around 2 AM if I recall correctly, but it turned out far better than I expected it to. It also ended up being my most successful upload of all time, making it into a few playlists and being my first front page submission

I just listened through all the NGUAC final entries and this is the last track. It makes for a really uplifting and celebratory end to my listening spree of what has been an insanely impressive final round. I really enjoyed listening to this song, and you clearly have a ear for a nice melody. If there was any constructive advice to give, it would just be that perhaps your music could benefit from diversifying things up a bit! Whether it's the chords, melody or instrumentation, or even just adding some modulations here and there, it would really take it to another level!! That's really just a small detail though, and I really enjoyed the overall positive atmosphere that you crafted with your song. It gave me all the good feelzzz <3

Good luck with the contest, WoogLord! :)

WoogLord responds:

I couldn't agree more! It's like you are reading off the list of things I want to work on for the next songs :)

Thanks so much EtherealWinds!

oh nooo, your .flp got corrupted! That really, really sucks. I'm sorry to hear that and I know the feeling... your submission regardless is very impressive and a strong entry though! You did really well to not become to disheartened. Your style is really interesting and dynamic; really professional quality. I'm looking forward on your behalf to when more people come across this track, because I know lots of people are gonna really enjoy this one. It's only a matter of time! I don't make music in this style, so this is personally really inspiring to hear. Maybe I should try, someday, in my own way. I think this has a great chance to do quite well this round. Good luck and looking forward to hearing more of your work :3

whymsical responds:

Thanks man! Never had a review like this before so this honestly really makes my day

Well Walpang, this may only be 32 seconds, but you said a lot in such a short time through your music. Plus, what else is the loop function for? I would absolutely love to hear an extended version of this track. I know realistically, you can only get so high a score with a 30 second track in the NGUAC as I'm sure you probably realise... but this one has SO much potential to be an amazing, fleshed-out track. But sometimes life gets in the way of these things, and two weeks really isn't much time to work on a track. I'm also the type of person that likes to let music flourish and grow in its own time rather than forcing something to be made for the sake of a deadline, at the expensive of quality. I'm just happy I got to find your music and I can't wait to hear more of your music, old and new. Best of luck, and hopefully see you around Newgrounds! <3

Walpang responds:

This is about the kindest review I could've imagined for such a short piece! Thanks so much for the amazing words, I really do wish I had more to show, but I'll be back for next year <3

Well, it would seem the bass, indeed, can. These types of production skills honestly inspire me to up my game in my own music. I can't tell if those vocal samples are talkbox or autotuned, but regardless, they are so satisfying to my ears. Love those lil woos as well. This is really nostalgic! I might have liked a little drop or something where the track calms down a little, just to avoid my ears getting too fatigued, but what am I saying... this is just really damn cool. Good luck in the NGUAC!

Perhaps I'm not just the best when it comes to mastering, but it sounds really pleasantly mastered to me. There is something so bright and freeing about the feel of this track, and I definitely get summer vibes from it, as you said. This sounds really professional and I love the part at 1:17-1:48! The way the synths are dancing around each other is very much my jam. Very tasteful outro too. Good luck in the finalssss!

TheNormalMusic responds:

Thanks! Well, in terms of mastering, I don't think it's as well done as in my other recent songs, but maybe I'm just deaf from listening to the same melody for thousands of times...

Ambience: I'm sat at a jazz bar late on a Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning with a whiskey in hand. All my friends have left, and I'm almost out of it. There's a few people on the table near the corner and another guy at the bar, but I can't think of any topic of conversation to strike up. I'm just feeling the vibes.

Really superbly mixed and very impressive composition. You're very skilled. That small flourish 02:02-02:07 was beyond incredible, not to mention those keys from 02:20 until the end. I'm very impressed.

The competition sure is very tough this year... Best of luck with the NGUAC 2024 :)

Absolutely solid track. I enjoy that you take the time to let the song grow gradually, and the pay-off never disappoints. I can see why this track is getting popular! Funnily enough, my favourite parts of the track are the more low-key parts; perhaps 1:29-02:25. Your music has a lot of heart and I can feel how much of yourself you've put into this track. Good luck, Speedo!!

SpeedoRH responds:

Wow, thank you so much! I'm really glad to hear you enjoying my arrangements; it's a big issue of mine I've been trying to work on, so it means a lot. Thanks for taking the time off your day to listen to my song and review it :D

P.s. I find the fact that you enjoyed the more chill parts very interesting (and cool of you). I have wanted to make even remotely decent liquid dnb for the longest time, and the fact someone is making it known that I was able to do that is honestly pure bliss. From the bottom of my heart, thank you <3

Composer & vocalist. One half of Forest Elves, also often found making music with LucidShadowDreamer. I also enjoy encouraging other musicians on NG and getting to hear inspiring music :)
