You masterfully make 13/8 sound so natural to the ears. I'm not sure what it is, but this piece evokes a feeling of running through and dancing in heavy rain! It has a great mix of whimsy and intensity. Really lovely piece! Best of luck in the NGUAC.

It means a lot coming from a talented composer like you!
I tried to make it as musical as possible, it was not easy to "disconnect" from thinking about the time signature in order to get more into an intuitive approach.

Absolutely spectacular. One of the best compositions I've ever heard from Newgrounds... I love this very much!! It's like Princess Mononoke meets Final Fantasy's Tour de Japon orchestral arrangements... But something entirely new and fresh as well. Super impressed!

I have to say, it's really nowhere near as bad as you think it is. I think you've done a really great job with the mix; it's sounding smooth and balanced. There's a lot of details in the arrangement to enjoy, so it doesn't feel shallow or rushed to me. I love the part at 1:14, especially when the beat comes back in. If anything, perhaps there's room in this track to experiment more, melodically, but I wonder if I'm not just looking for something because you've made me feel there's something to look for with the way you've written the title and description.

I'm not sure I agree with your friend about leaving your creativity behind. If there's room in your life now for lots of good things, how much room can another good thing really take? It hasn't given up on you, so don't give up on it quite yet. So many people struggle with writers block, imposter syndrome, and self-hypercriticism. I know I'd love to keep hearing new music from you, so at least to me, it makes my world a better place. Keep it up! :)
