[Sail Away]

When I can so clearly hear that a song is coming straight from the heart, I listen with a different ear. Less of an objectively judgmental one so that I can fully absorb the music as it was intended. However, I'll try. I could only really bring myself to take off 0.5 stars for the sound quality and for some flat notes in the vocals here and there, neither of which bothered me too much. I'd like to thank you for sharing such a raw performance with us. I'm more than sure that many people will find the lyrics relatable. I think you should think about going down to a studio one of these days and recording this and perhaps a few other originals. Really good job.

I agree with johnfn in terms of transitions, notably at 1:30 and the ending which seemed randomly abrupt to me. I still think this deserves its 5 stars though, really amazing stuff. You really never know with the NGADM but assuming you get through (which I don't much doubt that you won't), I'll be looking forward to your unique arranging style.

Thank you! <3 I had five vocal tracks - two with minimum reverb so that you could still hear pronounced words, and the other three were mostly ambient background noise. I used Logic's Silver Verb and cranked the room space/mix up all the way on those and just went for it. :D

I put this on and listened as I replied to emails and such and actually forgot this was a loop. It flows so nicely!! I'm looking forward to actually testing out johnfn's mixing tips myself.

It's a shame that you lost everything but at least you put a lot of stuff on Newgrounds that you can download, even if the quality is not lossless.

I really love everything about this, well done!!
The thing that really started to build up your unique sound as a composer for me was at 00:42. I might be biased though, as I'm a sucker for key-changes. I love the balance of delicate harmonies with hard-hitting beats and complex rhythms. It's an honour to welcome one more talented musician to Newgrounds!
