oh nooo, your .flp got corrupted! That really, really sucks. I'm sorry to hear that and I know the feeling... your submission regardless is very impressive and a strong entry though! You did really well to not become to disheartened. Your style is really interesting and dynamic; really professional quality. I'm looking forward on your behalf to when more people come across this track, because I know lots of people are gonna really enjoy this one. It's only a matter of time! I don't make music in this style, so this is personally really inspiring to hear. Maybe I should try, someday, in my own way. I think this has a great chance to do quite well this round. Good luck and looking forward to hearing more of your work :3

Thanks man! Never had a review like this before so this honestly really makes my day

Well Walpang, this may only be 32 seconds, but you said a lot in such a short time through your music. Plus, what else is the loop function for? I would absolutely love to hear an extended version of this track. I know realistically, you can only get so high a score with a 30 second track in the NGUAC as I'm sure you probably realise... but this one has SO much potential to be an amazing, fleshed-out track. But sometimes life gets in the way of these things, and two weeks really isn't much time to work on a track. I'm also the type of person that likes to let music flourish and grow in its own time rather than forcing something to be made for the sake of a deadline, at the expensive of quality. I'm just happy I got to find your music and I can't wait to hear more of your music, old and new. Best of luck, and hopefully see you around Newgrounds! <3

Walpang responds:

This is about the kindest review I could've imagined for such a short piece! Thanks so much for the amazing words, I really do wish I had more to show, but I'll be back for next year <3

Perhaps I'm not just the best when it comes to mastering, but it sounds really pleasantly mastered to me. There is something so bright and freeing about the feel of this track, and I definitely get summer vibes from it, as you said. This sounds really professional and I love the part at 1:17-1:48! The way the synths are dancing around each other is very much my jam. Very tasteful outro too. Good luck in the finalssss!

TheNormalMusic responds:

Thanks! Well, in terms of mastering, I don't think it's as well done as in my other recent songs, but maybe I'm just deaf from listening to the same melody for thousands of times...

Absolutely solid track. I enjoy that you take the time to let the song grow gradually, and the pay-off never disappoints. I can see why this track is getting popular! Funnily enough, my favourite parts of the track are the more low-key parts; perhaps 1:29-02:25. Your music has a lot of heart and I can feel how much of yourself you've put into this track. Good luck, Speedo!!

SpeedoRH responds:

Wow, thank you so much! I'm really glad to hear you enjoying my arrangements; it's a big issue of mine I've been trying to work on, so it means a lot. Thanks for taking the time off your day to listen to my song and review it :D

P.s. I find the fact that you enjoyed the more chill parts very interesting (and cool of you). I have wanted to make even remotely decent liquid dnb for the longest time, and the fact someone is making it known that I was able to do that is honestly pure bliss. From the bottom of my heart, thank you <3

You were clearly really inspired when you wrote this. Somehow, I feel like this would fit really nice in a Quentin Tarantino film. It makes me feel similar feelings to some tracks from the Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 soundtracks. It's been such an honour and a pleasure hearing your NGUAC tracks this year. You've really brought a new quality of composing to Newgrounds and your musical point of view and expression are deep and evocative. This tugs at my heartstrings. Good luck, Solacitude. You deserve it. <3

Solacitude responds:

It's truly a honor when another composer with high quality material like you appreciate and connect through my creations. Being compared to actual sound tracks of such a renowned and high quality producer is a huge statement that makes my day :) I've been told a couple times that some of my music would fit very well into films, and I would really like in the future, to release music for sync licensing, so you make me a bit more confident taking this route!

Tugging at heart strings is synonym with mission accomplished to me, it means I managed to transfer a bit of my mind into sounds, that a little bit of the good it does to me, gets transferred.

Thank you very much for the kind words!

This starts off very strongly and where it leads is very satisfying. No part seems to linger too long so it never feels too slow or draggy. In fact, it feels like a very immersive piece of music that would go absolutely perfectly with a simulator ride. I was hooked the whole track. Good luck for this year's NGUAC!

SicraMusic responds:

Yooo thanks! And massive respect for listening to each and every submission and leaving detailed reviews on them, whenever I get one like this it always makes my day :)

Love this style and the darkness you manage to paint. 00:25 is quite powerful and your harmonic choices really help there. When everything opens up at 01:42 you really manage to draw me in as a listener. I can feel the tension and the drama in the track. Good luck in the finals, SP :)

Thanks for your comment Etherealwinds! :)

Satisfaction is a very apt title for this song. There is something very comforting about this track and gives me rainy night time in the city nostalgia. Reminds me of when I was on the night bus from Tokyo and Kyoto... I would totally listen to this on loop whilst watching all the lights out of the window. I know that when a song is able to transport me vividly to a completely different time or place, it's a total success as a piece of music. This deserves way more attention and is honestly one of my favourite tracks from this year's NGUAC. It has a special place in my heart, so thank you for making this. Good luck, Nxes :)

Nxes responds:

Thanks man! This means a lot to me(^ω^)

Hey mjattie! First things first, a very bold and wide mix, which is really nice. Your instrumentation choices are also very nice. I think as others have said, a little slow to get into things, but once you do, you manage to hook me in as a listener. The melody at 00:58 is really good and your percussive work in the next part is also interesting. The song has quite a mysterious vibe all-in-all. My favourite part of course, has to be the cough ending ;D best of luck in the NGUAC!

mjattie responds:

Hiii ethereal! Thanks for the review! I totally agree with the feedback, the intro is rushed, maybe a shorter song would've been better. I didn't have time to work on it for more than one evening unfortunately. But I'm glad it still hooked you in!

The title of the song got me intrigued before I even opened the track to listen to it. Then from the first second, the cleanness of the mix drew me in immediately. The mix in general is really balanced and sounds very professional. The vocals feel very close to me and makes my ears stand to attention, which complements the genre and the lyrics perfectly. Speaking of which, you're clearly a very impressive lyric-writer. The vocals were also really impressive too! Such a badass guitar solo. A very solid track and I think you'll do well in the NGUAC. Regardless, I shall still wish you the best of luck :)

Mischa-head responds:

Thank you so much for the really kind feedback!

Composer & vocalist. One half of Forest Elves, also often found making music with LucidShadowDreamer. I also enjoy encouraging other musicians on NG and getting to hear inspiring music :)
