I really like this! Great work and good luck. Always rooting for you to go far <3

larrynachos responds:

Thank you so much!

This is really nice! I've not heard this style from you before and you've taken to it well. I'd be curious to know what inspired the title? This reminds me of a genre of compilations on YouTube with 'medieval party hits' I sometimes put on when guests come round for drinks! Just a tip as a whistle-player: for realism, try to imagine how it might be to play the instrument. In particular, there isn't really any breathing break in this for the whistle, which would make it pretty impossible unless the performer had robotic lungs :D

I'd love to hear more medieval jams from you!

Everratic responds:

I'm glad you like it!

The original song name was "Riverwatch" because listening to it makes me feel like I'm wandering near a river just outside a medieval city. I couldn't find an apt picture for my youtube video because there aren't many free medieval options, so I settled with the picture you see now, and I renamed the song to "Castlewatch Road" so it would fit xD

Thanks for the tip. There are breaks at the end of the 8th bar, but I could definitely add more.

I intend to compose this type of music regularly now :D

I love how much you've managed to make this composition shine :)

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thank you very much! As you know, it took quite a bit of time to get the track to this point <3

I love this so much. Those mallets are absolutely magical! It's so refreshing to hear new music from you, always - one of the first musicians I came across on this site that just inspired me so much. You have such a respect for masterful sound design, small details, and incredible ambience. The melody at 2:08 played by (is it an oboe, bassoon?) reminds me so much of one of my favourite folk melodies, the melody of a folk song called Gröne Lunden. This entire thing is magical. Thank you for sharing!!

Step responds:

JORDI, thanks a million for dropping by!! Really means a lot to hear that you managed to get inspired by my music.

Gröne Lunden's melody sounds so similar to the one at 2:08 (which is a bassoon by the way), you're absolutely right. Almost sounds like plagiarism haha.

Thanks a lot for reviewing, it's great to hear from you.

This is dark and wonderful. Always a pleasure listening to your productions!

steampianist responds:

Thanks a lot dude. It's been a while

I really like this :)

Jmagnum responds:

Thanks :D

This has to be one of my favourite submissions to the NGADM of all time, even if you're a fill-in. I really love this, and now that winter is in full-flow and the streets outside are completely coated with snow here in Finland, this song serves to remind me of how warm it feels to be inside, and how beautiful it is outside. Thank you for this!

stardew responds:

thank you so much! i'm a big fan of your music

oddly enough it's also started snowing here in the northern U.S., which is what inspired me to write this. i'm glad i was able to convey that feeling through this song :-)

This gives me anxiety (in a good way)

larrynachos responds:

Good anxiety is just excitement, no? Glad you liked it Jordi :D
